For decades the cool thing to say was that real results in any fitness plan were all WILLPOWER. And if you quit, failed, or didn’t get the promised results, then your willpower was either weak or just sucked.

Today we are much more in tune with mindfulness, and basically being crunchy hippies. Who knew that being “modern” meant composting, hugging the environment, and expressing ourselves!
Thankfully, I prefer MINDSET much better over talk of WILLPOWER. It seems much more controllable (which it is) and it is something that we can just OWN instead of have to work to build, strengthen and ultimately flex like a muscle.
Here’s my thoughts…
When I started this whole fitness journey thing, I was fed up with yo-yoing and honestly, just felt super self-conscious. I had lost baby weight. I was back to teaching spin. I was choosing healthier foods just because they felt better in my body, but I wasn’t consistent to get lasting results.
When I joined my first virtual fitness plan support group (aka: a bunch of badass women lifting each other up and reminding each other that pizza doesn’t taste as good as success feels), I finally was put into a mental state that helped me create that consistency I needed. I was motivated as hell and inspired on the daily. It was about damn time!
Meanwhile, we were crushing business at the bar and most of the time my dinners consisted of morsels of cheese throughout the night and a GINORMOUS glass of red wine to “reward” myself for making it through another busy Friday night. Bartenders…you feel me.
Mindset to the rescue! It was like, “just turn the switch, Tasia!” Easier said than done? Well, not really! See, we absolutely have 100% control over HOW we think. We cannot control what happens around us or to us, but we definitely can control how we react to it or how we judge it.
Funny thing happened…I started walking into places like I was a legit ROCKSTAR because I didn’t care what other people thought…this was my journey and I was going to get results, damnit! I TALKED about what I was doing. I started helping OTHERS do what I was doing and yep, you guessed it, my results were achieved and they stuck. AND I was feeling healthy from the inside, out.

Point is, let’s get crunchy, hippie, granola together. Instead of HIDING behind your health goals and fitness plan, straight up OWN it girl!

Have confidence in where you have been, what you are up to, and where you are going!
There is growth to be achieved, and yea, results, too.
